Kansas City Mathematics Technology EXPO

The Kansas City Mathematics Technology EXPO is a forum for mathematics instructors at both the college and secondary levels to demonstrate how they use technology successfully in their teaching, to learn about new mathematics technology, and to discuss the philosophy and future of technology in the mathematics classroom. Colloquium Talk on Mathematical Biology

Prof. H. T. Banks is a Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at NC State University. Prof. Banks has published over 400 papers in applied mathematics and engineering journals, has graduated 35 Ph.D. students, has directed more than 36 postdocs, has written four books, and edited several others. The UMKC  Applied Mathematics Group  has invited Prof. Banks to present his recent work on Mathematical Biology. This event is open to the public.

Professor Anne Gelb is an excellent researcher in developing methematical methods for image processing. She was at the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, Arizona State University and recently joined the Dartmouth College. The UMKC Applied Mathematics Group has invited Prof. Gelb to present her recent work on image processing. The Integration Bee is a contest for undergraduates and high school students with prizes for the best skills in evaluating indefinite integrals. This event is hosted by  the UMKC Math Club.
