UMKC Financial Aid Office

UMKC's Financial Aid and Scholarships Office helps secure funding to assist students in paying for college. This funding can be in the form of scholarships, grants, work-study jobs, student loans and parent loans. Students interested in applying for these different types of funding should be aware of the following information.

FAFSA: Need-based Scholarships

To be eligible for need-based scholarships at UMKC, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA. The government uses this form to calculate an estimated family contribution (EFC). The financial aid office subtracts your EFC from your cost of attendance to determine your financial need. If you are determined to have financial need, you may be eligible for some need-based scholarships.
