Edge of Memory-series

In these photographs I investigate my body through looking. I place myself behind and in front of the camera, and become both the image and the viewer simultaneously. The inner sensations manifest themselves on the outside, through textures and energy in the skin, through the treatment of light and color. My look travels into the spaces in-between, the shifting spaces within. The outside takes on the nature of the inside.

While seeing his or her own image in the work the viewer becomes part of the exploration, the investigation of what is familiar and what is intimate, what is comforting and what is uncomfortable about our own bodies.
