Design education is a process of becoming informed, thoughtful and able to find solutions to complex problems in a changing world. The UMKC Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design has a comprehensive array of professional degree programs leading to design careers including Architecture, Interior Architecture/Product Design, Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning and Design.

Due to its distinctive history, Kansas City is an ideal learning laboratory for design education with a strong emphasis in collaborative community projects.  Our faculty uses the greater Kansas City region as a context for studying critical issues in planning and design while generating creative solutions. UMKC is training urban planners, architects, landscape architects and interior architects/product designers to become innovators and leaders in these vitally important design professions. UMKC has had the honor of partnering with atop 10 College of Architecture, Planning and Design - at Kansas State for almost 20 years. I encourage you to contact us and start imagining your future.
