Andrea Drew GounevTeaching Professor
Professor Drew Gounev is the Coordinator of the Organic Chemistry Labs, teaches various courses within the Department, serves as an academic advisor for undergraduate Chemistry majors, and is Chair of the Chemistry Department’s Undergraduate Program Committee. She earned a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of South Carolina and was awarded a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow prior to coming to UMKC in 1996.
Professor Drew Gounev also serves as a faculty advisor to Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega Community Service Fraternity, and the UMKC Pre-Dental Society. She has been awarded the Student Organization Advisor of the Year, the UMKC Student Government Association’s Apple Polisher’s Award, the Dean’s Outstanding Teaching Award for Non-Regular Faculty, and the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
