Bio: Born in Chicago, Carol F. Koehler attended private schools in Illinois and Switzerland. She received her B.A. In English Literature and French from Rosary College (now Dominican University), her M.A. In Media Production from the Department of Communications Studies at the University of Missouri, Kansas City where she also did her doctoral work. She is currently an Associate Professor in Communication Studies and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at UMKC. She is the director of an internship program that oversees approximately seventy-five students a year. Along with teaching, her creative work has been recognized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the International Television Association and shown on public television. Dr. Koehler's research interests are documentary film, experiential training (internships), Latina studies, healing and cultural diversity and collaboration in the classroom. She has serves as a consultant to the Kauffman Fund and Combined Health of Kansas City. She is married with five children and eight grandchildren.
