Having a hard time making up your mind about a major at UMKC? You're not alone - 77% of all college Freshmen and Sophomores in America don't know either. Even students who have chosen a major are likely to change their minds at some time during their college years.

If you are still deciding, UMKC has an exciting new program for you . It is the General Studies Program for Deciding Students and will take a proactive approach to seeking out students who want to explore academic and career connections. Academic advisors, career counselors and student peer professionals will be available to help students select majors and shape future career goals. This program will:

We believe that this positive outreach program will help you in a number of ways. Not only will you develop a better understanding about your interests, ambitions, and values, you will come to understand the requirements and conditions of career success. And you will know that you are on the right track with courses so you won't lose time and credit.
