Short Biography

Came to UMKC in 1980 after completing my Ph.D. in economics at Indiana University in Bloomington. Promoted to Associate Professor in 1987 and to Full Professor in 1998. Received the Shelby Storck Award for Excellence in Teaching. Was a Fulbright scholar in East/Central Europe in 1996. Research interests include the banking and financial markets development in the U.S. and in the transitioning economies of East/Central Europe.
