Approximate Costs 2012

Approximate costs: depending on exchange rate, UMKC tuition, and the fees charged by the University of Belgrano. See accepted forms of payment below

The following are estimated program costs.  Some amounts are paid to outside agencies, others are paid to the department (application fee & program deposit).  Students’ program balances and UMKC tuition will be billed by Cashiers.  The director will let you know of actual amounts through Blackboard e-mails and announcements, informational meetings, etc.

 

UMKC Application fee: $50 (Non-refundable, will be applied to program costs) Due February 24 with application.

UMKC Program fee: $400 ($600 for non-UMKC students)

Mandatory health insurance (contact International Academic Programs for more info): $70

Airfare (arranged by the student): Approx. $1400

Universidad de Belgrano tuition: $850

UMKC tuition (Spanish 380, 3 credit hours) $853 (estimate: student will enroll and Cashier's Office will bill actual amount)

Homestay (6 weeks, individual room, breakfast and dinner, internet, (some) laundry. Paid by cash when you arrive at the University): $1200

Excursions: $450

Spending money for lunches, etc.: $600-$1000

Accepted forms of payment:

The Department of Foreign Languages accepts payments by Cashier's Check (can be purchased at any bank) or by personal check.
