Qian is enrolled as an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. student with coordinating discipline Mathematics concentrating in Statistics, and co-discipline Molecular Biology & Biochemistry. Her interest is to study mathematical finance, and she is writing a paper on the Black-Scholes Formula with Professor Shiqing Zhang.
She has previously worked as a Teaching Assistant in her undergraduate mathematics department. Qian is also a pianist, and has been the conductor of a student choir.
