Samantha is enrolled as a Master's student with emphasis/concentration in Mathematics. She is currently certified to teach secondary mathematics in Missouri, and her student teaching experience included high school Algebra I and Algebra II. She was also a tutor at the Math Resource Center in Fall 2004, and earlier in May of that year visited Australian K-12 classrooms as part of the International Mission on Education. As an undergraduate at UMKC, Samantha was a Trustee's Scholar, a selective scholarship awarded to only 10 freshman each year.
