Advice: Although very elementary algebra (about the level of Algebra I in high school) is used for examples in this course, Math 105 is about how to read mathematics. It is meant to explicitly discuss all the issues of language and notation that are often left unspoken and expected to be automatically "absorbed" in content-oriented mathematics courses such as Math 110 (College Algebra), or any higher level mathematics course. Almost anyone can benefit from this course.
