The Missouri Stock Market Game
Advisor NYSE Scholarship Award
The Missouri Council
on Economic Education is
pleased to offer two $1,000.00 scholarships
to attend a five-day summer
workshop for educators at the New York Stock Exchange. These scholarships will be awarded to the advisors of the teams
that build the
greatest overall value in their portfolios statewide in both the Fall
2007 and the Spring 2008 Competitions.
The five-day workshop is
designed to:

Provide educators with a thorough
understanding of the capital-raising process, the NYSE agency auction
market, regulation, and technology.

Increase teacher ability to include
the stock market across curriculum disciplines.

Provide supporting materials and
skills for classroom instructions.
Teachers also have an on-site visit
to the trading floor, where they interface with market professionals.
The workshop is held at the NYSE from 8:30am - 4:30pm, M-F. Missouri
teachers will have the choice of one summer workshop. Workshop dates will be
published in April. Workshops are usually held the last week of June,
three weeks in July, and one in early August.
The Scholarship is designed to
off-set the costs of travel, lodging and meals of Missouri Educators
and will be awarded after the completion of their 5-day workshop.
The following
conditions apply:
- Limited to official participants in the Missouri Stock Market Game . Final determination of the winner subject to official
rules established by the Missouri Council on Economic Education and
The Foundation for Investor Education.
- The Missouri Council on Economic Education reserves the right to
review and approve the participation of the teams advisor.
Scholarship may only be awarded to a contract teacher who is a named
sponsor of a Missouri Stock Market Game team. Advisor
may only be awarded scholarship one time. If advisor wins first
place in the state more than once, the scholarship will then be
passed down to advisor of 2nd place team in the state.
- Scheduling of the specific dates for the trip is subject to
availability in a workshop.
- Hotel, meals, and ground transportation in New York City will
be paid for by the winning advisor and reimbursed by the Missouri
Council on Economic Education up to $1,000.00 upon completion of the
5 day NYSE Teacher workshop. All other expenses in NYC are
responsibility of winner.
- Liability and travel insurance for the advisor
must be provided by advisor or their school district, as Missouri Council on
Economic Education cannot provide such coverage and will accept no
responsibly there of.
