Introduction to Solid State Physics
Statistical Thermodynamics
Dr. Donald Priour is a condensed matter theorist with a computational emphasis. His interests include vortex matter in superconductors (usually in the presence of nanoscale artificial defect arrays in thin film superconductors) and disordered magnetism. Monte Carlo simulations are an important tool in computational statistical mechanics, and Donald has been using this technique to examine Heisenberg magnets where there is strong disorder and/or appreciable frustration in the alignment of spins which comprise the magnetic system.
