Pre-Anesthesiology Assistant

The UMKC School of Medicine offers a Master of Science in Anesthesia in which students are trained to become Anesthesiologist Assistants (AA).  Qualifications for the program are similar to many medical schools and include, among other requirements, earning a bachelor’s degree, completing specific prerequisite courses, and taking the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)

The Pre-MSA at UMKC handout contains course requirements, characteristics of an ideal pre-MSA student, contact information for the MSA program, and helpful links in exploring the AA field.  Pre-AA students in the College of Arts and Sciences should meet with their pre-health advisors each semester for class scheduling.
