Master Sergeant Sheri L. Ealey
U. S. Army Reserve
Master Sergeant
Sheri L. Ealey, a native of the
Kansas City area enlisted in the
U. S. Army Reserve in 1981. She
is currently the primary
instructor for the Military
Science/ROTC Department at
University of Missouri Kansas
City. Her civilian role is that
of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Master Sergeant Ealey is a proud
graduate of the Sergeants Major
Academy.
Sheri Ealey
entered the U.S. Army Reserve in
1981 as a Clerk-Typist under the
Army Reserve Civilian Acquired
Skills Program at the rank of
Private First Class. In 1982 she
attended Basic Training at Ft.
Sill, OK and rose to the rank of
Specialist. In 1984 she was
assigned as a Radio Operator who
went on to gain the
responsibilities of the Chief
Radio Operator. In 1986 MSG
Ealey was promoted to Sergeant
and completed the Radio Teletype
Operator Course. In 1987 she
transferred to the position of
Senior Patient Admin Specialist
and completed the NBC Defense
Course. In 1988 MSG Ealey was
hired as the Unit Administrator
for the HHD, 139th
Medical Group, Independence, MO.
Her military career continued to
flourish. In 1989 she was moved
to the Tactical Communications
Chief, completed the Unit
Administrator Basic Course and
the Retention NCO Course. In
1991 MSG Ealey completed the
Combat Signalers Course and was
awarded the 102nd USARCOM
Retention NCO of the Year. In
1992 she was promoted to SSG.
In 1993 MSG Ealey completed the
COMSEC Custodian course. MSG
Ealey completed the following
courses in 1994:
Advance-Noncommissioned Officer
I & II, Unit Administrator Basic
Course and the Revised
Battlefield SOI/CEOI course. She
was promoted to SFC in 1995. In
1996 she was transferred to the
new Signal Support System Chief
position. In 1997, MSG Ealey
transferred to the 325th
Field Hospital also in
Independence, MO as Wardmaster.
She then began her training via
Civilian Training Program to
become a Licensed Practical
Nurse in 1998. In 2001 MSG Ealey
returned to the 139th
Medical Group, promoted to MSG
and maintained the position as
Operations Sergeant until her
transfer in 2006. In 2004 MSG
Ealey completed the U.S. Army
Sergeants Major Academy prior to
mobilization to Cp Bondsteel,
Kosovo where she worked as the
Battle Staff and Training NCO.
In 2006 MSG Ealey transferred to
the 8th Brigade SROTC
as a 42A, Instructor.
