Captain Tony G.
Reames, a Bishopville, South
Carolina native, was
commissioned a Second Lieutenant
in the United States Army Corps
of Engineers on May 10, 2002
through the Army Reserve Officer
Training Corps (ROTC) program at
North Carolina Agricultural &
Technical State University (NCA&T)
in Greensboro, NC. He graduated
Summa Cum Laude and received a
Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering. CPT Reames is also
a Distinguished Military
Graduate from NCA&T. He also
holds a Master of Engineering
Management from Kansas State
University.
CPT Reames was
first assigned as a Gold Bar
Recruiter at Duke and North
Carolina Central Universities in
Durham, NC before attending
Engineer Officer Basic Course.
He was then assigned to 70th
Engineer Battalion, 3rd
Brigade, 1st Armored
Division at Fort Riley, KS. He
was deployed to Operation Iraqi
Freedom 1 (2003-2004) and served
as a Construction Officer and
later as the Battalion S2. Upon
return to Fort Riley he served
as a platoon leader in both an
engineer line platoon and an
Assault and Obstacle platoon.
CPT Reames was then assigned to
HHC, 24th Infantry
Division at Fort Riley, KS. He
served as an Operations Officer
and Assistant Director of the
Installation Risk Management
Program. CPT Reames later
served as a company executive
officer in Company A, 3rd
Battalion, 60th
Infantry Regiment, 1st
Combat Training Brigade at Fort
Jackson, SC. His final active
duty assignment was as an
Assistant S3 in HHC, 1st
Combat Training Brigade at Fort
Jackson, SC. CPT Reames then
joined the Army Reserves and was
assigned as the Battalion S4 in
1st Battalion, 3rd
Brigade, 95th
Division, at Fort Leonard Wood,
MO. He is currently assigned to
the 4th Battalion,
413th Regiment, 84th
USARRTC at Fort Knox, KY, as an
Adjunct Faculty/Military Science
Instructor at the University of
Missouri-Kansas City.
CPT Reames’
military schooling includes
Engineer Officer Basic Course,
Manager Development Course, Unit
Movement Officer Course and he
is currently enrolled in the
Engineer Officer Advanced
Course. His awards and
decorations include the Army
Commendation Medal with 3 oak
leaf clusters, the Army
Achievement Medal, the National
Defense Service Medal, the
Global War on Terrorism
Expeditionary Medal, the Global
War on Terrorism Service Medal,
the Army Service Ribbon, and the
Combat Action Badge.
CPT Reames
resides in Kansas City, MO and
has a civilian career as a civil
engineer and is also a partner
in an independent insurance
agency.
