Scholarship Coordinator
Liz Barton
Hello and welcome to the
University of Missouri-Kansas City. My name is Liz Barton, the Scholarship
Coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences. I oversee the day to day
operations of all the Scholarships and Awards in the College, including
developing program content and supervision of the Bernard Osher Reentry
Scholars, orchestrating Donor- and Student-related events, and serving as an
advocate for the importance of scholarships on campus and in the community. It
would be my pleasure to help you with any academic issues or other concerns
about classes, life, graduation or where to go for help at UMKC. Please feel
free to make an appointment with me to discuss any questions you might have.
I am a native of Kansas City, Missouri, and a proud graduate
of UMKC. My background includes working as a Prospective Student Advisor for the
UMKC School of Education for 2 years; while earning a Master’s of Arts Degree in
Higher Education Administration, to compliment my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal
Arts. Studying abroad in Northern England and South East Asia were my biggest
accomplishments during my undergrad.
Studying abroad was a wonderful experience for me during college,
and I love to discuss study abroad opportunities and scholarships available to
students.
Outside of
work, you will find me riding bikes or running. I have always enjoyed a great
book, so all suggestions are welcome. I am really excited for the year to come.
There will be several adventures to embrace.
