Field Practicum
The program uses agencies throughout the metropolitan area to offer practicum experiences at both foundation and advanced levels. Students typically spend two days in the field and are mentored by an M.S.W. practitioner employed by the agency. Students spend a requisite number of hours in face-to-face contact with clients, in agency meetings, in individual or group supervision, and in the community. In some cases, students who are already social service employees can arrange to complete one year of their field placements at their own agencies.
