STUDENT PROFILES - Scenic Design

Jenn McDuffee is a 3rd-year scenic design MFA student, who worked as props master/props construction for The Heidi Chronicles. Her previous props artist experience includes Clay (KC Rep), The Cure at Troy (UMKC), Quindaro (UMKC), In Spite of Thunder: The Macbeth Project (Coterie/UMKC), The Secret Lives of Losers (UMKC), King Lear (KC Rep), and Three Sisters (UMKC). Jenn received her bachelor’s degree in Design/Tech Theatre and Art History in 2006 from Christopher Newport University in Virginia. Her scenic design credits include The Country Wife (UMKC), The Blue Room, The Vagina Monologues, Words Words Words, Life Under Water, Penguin Blues, Answers, The Lover, The Love Talker. Jenn also designed Sweet Charity, Another Saturday Night, and Much Ado About Nothing for Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp in Colorado.

 

Ryan J. Zirngibl is originally from northern Wisconsin and is currently a 3rd-year M.F.A. student of Scenic Design at UMKC. In the past Ryan has designed for regional, college, high school, young audience and community theatre including shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Everyman, West Side Story, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Alice in Wonderland, The Diviners, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and more.  Local designs include Tartuffe at UMKC Theatre, The Lieutenant of Inishmore at the Unicorn Theatre, and the world premier of Matthew Powell’s Red Shoes Ballet at the Crossroads Ballet festival this past summer.  For more information and to view a sampling of Ryan's designs go to www.ryanjzirngibl.com
