Kristi Holsinger
, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology, (B.A., Aquinas College, 1990; M.S., University of Cincinnati, 1995; Ph.D., University of Cincinnati, 1999). Joint appointment with Women's and Gender Studies.

Since 1995, Dr. Holsinger has been involved in research focusing on the needs and experiences of system-involved girls. This research has led to recommendations for the improvement of programs and services for incarcerated girls and collaborative efforts with Jackson County’s Family Court.  She worked on a project with the National Institute of Corrections to develop and validate a women’s assessment instrument for Missouri’s Department of Corrections.  She has written several articles on innovative teaching strategies in mentoring incarcerated youth and teaching restorative justice to traditional college students and incarcerated youth.
