2022 MAA Missouri Section Meeting

Conference registration          Submit an Abstract   

University of Missouri-Kansas City will host the 2022 Missouri Section Meeting of the Mathematical Association of America on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9. The conference is supported in part by the College of Arts and Sciences at UMKC. 

The 27th Missouri Collegiate Mathematics competition will be held on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8. The competition will be held on the campus of Rockhurst University, courtesy of our neighbours. 

The plenary speakers for the conference are Sarah J Greenwald, Appalachian State University, who will give the Polya Lecture, and Tim Chartier, Davidson College.The Polya lecture will be given during the Friday evening banquet.  See the left panel for more information on the plenary speakers. (Please note: It is likely that these lectures will be given virtually.)

The conference will have a hybrid format. We welcome all in-person participants, and plan to accommodate virtual participation through Zoom, if needed, including delivery of talks. 

All participants are expected to register for the conference, except for the students participating in the competition. Registration prices are as follows: 

  • In-person/faculty: $20 (+$20 if attending banquet and Polya lecture)
  • In-person/student: $10 (+$20 if attending banquet and Polya lecture)
  • Virtual/faculty or student: $5

If you would like to attend the banquet/Polya lecture, please register before March 31st, and make sure to add the banquet to the shopping cart. 

The deadline to submit an abstract to give a talk is March 18. 

We have a group rate with two hotels in the Plaza (under Local Information on the left).  However, please note that they have a deadline of March 18th for booking, after which the group rate will no longer be available.
