Communication Studies students at UMKC explore diverse interests through classroom work, research, internships, and individual practice, collaborate with faculty on research, compete in regional and national contests, and develop their resumes and portfolios at a variety local institutions.
The UMKC debate program operates from the Department of Communication Studies, and has ranked nationally among the top 10 debate teams since 1989 along with colleges such as University of California-Los Angeles and Cornell.
