Cathleen BurnettProfessor Emeritus
Dr. Burnett is Professor Emerita of Criminal Justice and Criminology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her research and teaching focuses on issues related to the death penalty in Missouri and in the United States, and she has published scientific research on clemency, wrongful death sentences, and restorative justice. She served on the Board of Directors for the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and currently serves on the Board of Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. In addition, as an ordained United Methodist minister, she serves as Associate Director for the Hermitage Spiritual Retreat Center in Pittsburg, MO.
