Biography

Niki has been with UMKC since 2013, first working on her M.F.A. in Creative Writing and now on an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in English and Humanities. Her M.F.A. thesis project was a collection of short stories exploring belief through magical realism. Her I.Ph.D. dissertation is focused on disability studies in film, specifically how WWII and Victorian freak shows have influenced the way those with disabilities are presented.
