Milton Gomez was an English teacher for 12 years in Colombia, South America, where he was the English Department director for one of the country’s largest private universities. In Colombia, his research focused on improving reading skills for English foreign language learners. He came to UMKC in 2014 to take an English course for EFL teachers at the Applied Language Institute and returned in 2015 to pursue his M.A. in English literature, which he completed in 2018. Mr. Gomez is currently pursuing his Interdisciplinary Ph.D. at UMKC and serves as a graduate teaching assistant, an officer of the English Graduate Student Association, and a member of Sigma Tau Delta.
