Lindsay Moore

Visiting Assistant Professor


Dr. Lindsay Moore is a historian of early modern Britain with a special emphasis on women and legal history. Her forthcoming book, titled Women and the Law in the Anglo-American World, 1600-1800, will be published by Manchester University Press next year. She is also the author of several other articles, including “Women, Property, and the Law in the Anglo-American World, 1630-1700,” published in Early American Studies in 2016.

Before moving to Kansas City in 2015, Dr. Moore was an Assistant Professor of History and Social Science at Boston University. Her research has been supported by the Mellon Foundation, the Huntington Library, the North American Conference on British Studies, and the Massachusetts Historical Society. She has also been the recipient of the Berkshire Award for new projects in women’s history.
