Dr. Sarah Pilgrim is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Missouri Kansas City where she has been a faculty member since 2016. Sarah completed her Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Social Welfare at the University of Kansas and her BSW at Washburn University. Her research interests are in the area of adolescent trauma as related to foster placement and intervention methods for this population that focus on sexual health and body image. Sarah’s interest in Secondary Trauma, Professional Burnout, and self-care stem from 10 years of direct social work practice and the impact that this field had on herself and her colleagues.
