Biography

Professor Workman joined UMKC in 2017 after being a Prize Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. His research interests focus on sociology of education, social stratification, and quantitative methodology. Professor Workman teaches courses on Introduction to Sociology, Statistics for Social Sciences, Research Methods, and Social Stratification.

Research Interests:
His research interests focus on understanding the ways schools reproduce inequality in larger society. Professor Workman shows class-based and racial-ethnic inequalities in educational outcomes largely arise due to process that occur outside of school.
