Hye Young Shin joined the Department of Art & Art History in 2013. She is an art educator and artist whose expertise is in printmaking, drawing, and paper sculpture. Her practices are to create a space for observing the relationship between memory and art with viewers. Her artwork has been inviting to present through numerous exhibitions in regional, national, and international venues including the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Weatherspoon Art Museum UNC Greensboro, NC; Douro Museum, Alijo, Portugal; Il Bisonte Foundation for Printmaking, Florence, Italy; Janet Turner Print Museum, California State University-Chico; Jincheon Museum of Printmaking, Jincheon; Seoul Art Gallery, South Korea; Kennedy Museum of Art, Ohio University, Athens, OH, and more. She has invited to outstanding national and international artist in residency programs including the Scuola di Grafica, Venice, Italy, Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT; the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, awarded three-year residency at the Studios Inc., Kansas City, MO; the Proyecto `Ace Artist in Residency program, Bueno Aires, Argentina.
