New Guest Professor

We wish to welcome Dr. John Trygve “Tryg” Has-Ellison to our Department as a Guest Professor for the 2018-19 academic year. Has-Ellison is the current Non-Immigrant Visa Chief at the U.S. Consulate General in Monterrey, Mexico, and a specialist in the history of German nobles and artistic modernism during the fin-de-siècle. During his visit to UMKC, Has-Ellison will speak about his academic research, his Foreign Service experiences, and alternative career paths in coordination with the Career Diversity Grant that the Department of History has received from the American Historical Association.
