We are a vibrant community of behavioral scientists and clinicians who are dedicated to our students’ academic and career success!
Our students have the support of a fully staffed advising office and faculty mentorship in both research and applied arenas. We encourage students to take advantage of every opportunity we offer to get the most of their education at UMKC.
The Departmental Faculty come from both Clinical and Experimental traditions including Social Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Quantitative Psychology. All of our faculty have active programs of research and invite student participation in their projects. Their research specializations range from understanding basic cognitive and emotional processes to more applied questions related to the impact of crime and victimization, the adaptation of refugees in Kansas City, and the promotion of better food choices by children.
With the largest undergraduate major in the College of Arts and Sciences and a thriving doctoral program, Psychology students have a large presence on the campus and in the greater Kansas City community. When you join our department, you will be surrounded by active, engaged peers.
