Daisy Garcia Montoya, a senior majoring in journalism and political science, and minoring in international studies, was interviewed about her work helping the Hispanic Development Fund raise funds for scholarships to benefit undocumented students at UMKC. Two College of Arts and Sciences alumni have been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Award to continue their research and scholarship. Sydney Harvey, who received her Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy and Film from UMKC in 2016, will study in the United Kingdom; and Marc Reyes, who received his Master of Arts in History from UMKC in 2014, will study in India.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Department of Communication Studies is pleased to announce a new degree program, the Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Arts. Students will be able to officially enroll in this new degree program beginning Fall 2017.
“Film and Media Arts has been an emphasis area within Communication Studies for many years.
